Landscape in Red: Creative Cut Zine

Landscape in Red is a  subconscious surreal 8x5cm 'folded zine' from a 'creative cut' sketchbook exercise from a drawing of furniture in my room.

The random lines in red and black oil pastel resulting from the cutting exercise, coupled with the use of red itself suggested this dystopian landscape resulting from floods and climate change.

The pages were then developed in Silver FX Pro Film Noir filter with framing and retaining red colour to produce a more edgy  effect. The different experience of the page gallery compared with leafing through the small sketchbook itself (only approximated by the slideshow) is also interesting.

This spontaneous narrative provides an interesting basis for further development of a minimalist short fiction text and expressive illustration.
