The Battle of Suet

The Battle of Suet  originated in a creative writing exercise about objects in my garden. The images are based on a bird feeder for suet cakes that I had stuffed with objects like hazel nuts that had been eaten by squirrels. It started to take iPhone photographs for the writing exercise, and started to notice all sorts of dramatic images appearing as I altered frames and angles.

These appeared first as cyanotypes in  'Spectres in Blue' as 'Into the Suet Feeder'. I then experimented in colour in Topaz.

In the Garden of Gremlin I  work further to increase the sense of drama, movement and dark humour with  the colour images laid out as a textless narrative.
